“Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?”
(Matthew 6:26-27)
Recently my wife purchased a new bird feeder. Mary says watching the birds flock nearby ‘sparks joy.’ Since she is a closet worrier (that is, she will not openly admit to worrying), Mary needs these little signs of God’s beauty to refresh her spirit.
It seems there is a lot to worry about these days.
Be mindful of ways God can comfort you in simple moments.

What calms your spirit?
I love the changing colors of the trees…walking through the woods along the river…wearing a flannel shirt and jeans…the smell of pine needles.
Dunrovin is a good place for my serenity walks. God has been doing a powerful work in me during these pandemic days. Step by step, God teaches me to trust.
The road ahead does not seem clear, but God provides for Dunrovin every day through friends, benefactors, employees, and guests. I am grateful for you!
Who helps you trust God more fully?
St. John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers, faced many trials during his lifetime, circumstances where he chose to place his trust in God.
At one point, the saint wrote, “Little did I know where I was headed. If I had known, I wouldn’t have touched the project.” [opening a school for poor children]
Nevertheless, De La Salle completely entrusted his life to God and the will of God, founding an order of teaching brothers who continue to spread the Gospel of Christ by providing education throughout the world.
“God’s compassion for you is greater than the troubles you have.”
(St. John Baptist De La Salle, Meditation 38:1)
